I cannot imagine why you believe it acceptable to communicate in such a rude and unprofessional manner with anyone, let alone one of the students for whom you work. If you are unable to apologise formally and respond in a civilised fashion with a full and correct answer to my entirely reasonable question, I will have no choice but to raise a formal complaint with the university about your ongoing bullying and harassment.

I would note that tenure is not protection against disciplinary proceedings resulting from accusations of personal misconduct towards your students.

I see no reason, however, why this matter cannot be resolved amicably. I eagerly await your response.

Professors did this all the time where I went to school it was the most annoying thing on earth. I am sure they say to themselves. "Every fucking semester I hand out a syllabus to every student in my class. I spend hours drafting it and planning it to include all the information they need, and then they still come to me with questions about information that I have clearly printed on that syllabus! Fuck that! I will just tell them to use the resource I ALREADY GAVE THEM so that they get the point of why i gave it to them."

It was only after I graduated and spoke to my TA friend that I realized the reality of this situation.

The best part was the execution of it all:

We were chatting on facebook one night when I told him that I was going to sign him up to the church of Scientology.

Him: No your not

Me: Yes I am

Me: OK

(I started filling out the information)

Me: What's your address?

(He gives it to me)

As an instructor (who forgets many things...) and a former student, I can see the frustration on both sides here. I'd assume that yours isn't the only email on the subject, and it's easy to get frustrated when students aren't marginally independent enough to check the syllabus/schedule. However, its also shitty to get that sort of response.
Pro-tip: if asking something scheduling related, it signals your real effort to just drop in a line like: "I checked the course materials and couldn't find a satisfactory answer, could I get clarification on X?" That way, your instructor knows you tried, checks and finds the mistake, and you get a nice thank you for noticing the error well ahead of time and being on point. (In my classes anyway.)
When you have lots of stressed young people all firing small questions at you, it can be tough to remember good manners. Not excusing, just explaining.

Probably. Interestingly, though, it works astonishingly well in the real world. I've frequently told people 'you can't talk to me like that; this is a professional environment' and the effect always seems to be that everyone subsequently treats me like the senior professional in the office, even after only a day or two. I think there's an element of 'professionals wear suits, which is formal; he insists on even being formal in speech, so he must be ultra-professional'.
